Tips for your fun evening in Amsterdam!
Hello dear Amsterdam and party lovers!
Since Amsterdam is popular for having a lot to offer when it comes to nightlife, we thought of giving a few suggestions and tips for your fun evening in Amsterdam.
So stay tuned, because we are about to make your night out even better!
Many tourists, especially those who visit the city for the first time, assume that the (only) area for nightlife is the famous red light district of Amsterdam. Of course there is a lot to see there at night. However, there are a few other, even better places around the city that you should discover when going out.
Let’s start with two places located at the Oosterdok, close to the Nemo Science Museum. The first one is called Skylounge and – you can already imagine – it is a rooftop lounge bar. Not only can you get something to eat there during the day and meet up with friends, colleagues or business partners for cocktails and snacks, but at night you can enjoy the DJ’s music while having a spicy drink from the barista and enjoying the view. The second one is called Hannekes Boom and is suitable for various occasions. What makes this location special and different is that you can actually rent it for your own events and parties. If you have ideas and want to organize something you can simply contact them and get started!
Now let’s jump to the city centre: A very popular and also touristic place is Rembrandtplein, where you can find many different bars and also clubs, for example Olivia, Escape, Claire or Air Amsterdam, which is located a bit down the street, heading to Waterlooplein. What is perfect about Rembrandtplein: First you can visit a bar to get some drinks, then you can go to a club for a dance!
Being in the city centre, you can also go to bars like the W Lounge, which is behind the palace at dam square, in the Spuistraat, or the Waterkant, which is a bar at Elandsgracht from which you have a nice view over a canal of Amsterdam. Close to Waterkant, in the Rozengracht, is also the Chin Chin Club. So once you’re there, you can just visit both if you are in a super party-mood! By the way: The area of these last two locations is the same that you walk into when doing our adventurous and delicious culinary hunt: The Food Steps of the Jordaan District. Our suggestion is that by day you enjoy our food tour through the Jordaan District, then take some time to digest and get ready and afterwards get started with your night out, going back to the Bars in the city centre. What do you think?
If you want to go to another corner of the city to party, here is the next tipp: Bar/Club Rouge, located at the Singelgracht at the Koningsplein. This place combines a bar and nightclub and is even a restaurant by day. It is red-themed and has many fancy lights, like the name says it: Rouge, which means red in french. Definitely worth a visit.
From there you can easily walk down the Leidsestraat (or take the tram) to get to the Leidseplein, which is also known for many bars and even a few nightclubs.
Should you prefer to go out in Amsterdam Noord, here are two suggestions you can start with:
Number one is the Cafe de Ceuvel – A sustainable café close to Noorderpark, which turns into a place for awesome parties every now and then. Number two is Noorderlicht – a place for food and drinks close to the NDSM wharf. In the evening you can listen to live music while having a great time with your friends, your date or whoever you are going out at night with.
Last but not least we can totally recommend going to a park with your friends, a delicious picnic, some drinks and games in the evening. It’s a total vibe in Amsterdam – especially in summer. So you should definitely do it before summer is over. Even there it is possible to meet some new, amazing people – probably even locals. So go try that out if you are not so into bars and clubs. And if you need a guide for all those beautiful parks of Amsterdam, we recommend taking a look at our blog Green Amsterdam on our website.
I hope we were able to give you some ideas for your night out. Let’s hope that covid will make it possible again for us to go party like we did before the pandemic.
If you visit one of the places we suggested, make sure to not only tag them, but also us when posting on Social Media.
We are excited to see you having a lot of fun in Amsterdam!
Take care and enjoy! 🙂
