Leidseplein is a square in the center of Amsterdam in the extension of the Leidsestraat.

It borders the Marnixstraat and the Small-Gartmanplantsoen. Leidseplein is located right in the heart of the city and is a place where both locals and visitors of the city come together to enjoy great restaurants, shops, and nightlife hotspots. Immediately northeast of the Singelgracht canal, it provides a great and easy to reach location that has also been known as one of the city’s main transportation hubs.

The most notable landmark in the square is undoubtedly the Stadsschouwburg, a beautiful theater where another landmark, the American Hotel is close by.
