DESCRIPTION

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the largest collection of art works by Vincent van Gogh in the world. In this guided tour you will be able to see the permanent collection which includes more than 200 paintings by Vincent van Gogh, 500 drawings and more than 800 letters. The museum also presents exhibitions on various subjects from 19th-century art history.

THE MUSEUM

Explore Vincent van Gogh’s famous paintings and drawings, work by his artist friends and contemporaries, French and Japanese prints and more.
Vincent van Gogh decided to become an artist at the age of 27. That decision would change his life and art history forever. You will be able to get to know Vincent’s life, 1853-1890.

Immerse yourself in:
Self-portraits, Vincent made many self-portraits to practice his skills as a painter.
Landscapes, Vincent loved nature and enjoyed painting outdoors.
Flowers & Blossom, Van Gogh painted a number of impressive flower still life such as Sunflowers and Irises.
Van Gogh’s early drawings. Drawing from Paris such as cafes, boulevards and scenic sights along the Seine. Drawings from southern France which Van Gogh made works on paper that showed his skill as draughtsman.
You will be able to learn more about his biography, letters he wrote, stories about his illness, and his brother Theo.
