Discover Amsterdam in a more personal and exclusive way with your own private guide. This 2 hour walking tour follows the same route as our popular public tour, with the added benefit of flexibility and personal attention. Ideal for those who prefer a more tailored experience.

Your guide will meet you at Nieuwmarkt, in front of De Waag, and take you through the historic heart of Amsterdam. As you walk along the canals and through the oldest parts of the city, you will uncover Amsterdam’s rich history from the Dutch Golden Age to World War II.

Explore iconic highlights such as Dam Square, the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, the Begijnhof, the Flower Market, the 9 Streets and the Jordaan District. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the Dutch East India Company VOC, the city’s role in global trade, and key moments such as the Spanish and French invasions, including the time of Napoleon Bonaparte.

You will also learn about influential figures like Rembrandt van Rijn and how Amsterdam developed into the city it is today. The tour ends near the Anne Frank House, where your guide will share powerful World War II stories that give deeper context to this important chapter in history. Please note that this tour does not include entry to the Anne Frank House. To complete the experience, you will enjoy a freshly made stroopwafel during a delicious stroopwafel tasting.

You can reschedule free of charge if you notify us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. There are no refunds on cancellations made within 24 hours before the tour starts. If you booked through a booking platform, you must reschedule directly with them.

Dès les premières minutes, on a senti qu’elle connaissait son sujet sur le bout des doigts. Elle nous a parlé d’Anne Frank avec un vrai souci du détail, en prenant le temps d’expliquer chaque élément, chaque contexte, chaque nuance. Elle répondait à toutes nos questions sans jamais se presser, avec une grande sensibilité et beaucoup de respect pour l’histoire qu’elle racontait. Grâce à elle, on a compris des choses qu’on n’aurait jamais vues seuls. Une visite marquante, rendue encore plus forte par la qualité de son accompagnement.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an excellent walking tour of the Jordaan area/specifically the area around the Anne Frank house. Our guide was Giovanni and he was outstanding! He’s very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the events here during that time. He also has a large spiral notebook with laminated photos of the areas we visited to compare then and now. It was rainy at times, but we found covered areas and still saw and learned many, many interesting things. We had tickets to the Anne Frank house after our walking tour and it was even more meaningful because of Giovanni’s explanations/photos of the house and where the Franks were hidden.
