Seven Sins of Amsterdam

Seven Sins of Amsterdam

DESCRIPTION

Let’s be honest, Amsterdam does have a reputation. A city with red lights above the windows and the smell of weed in the streets… for some it’s quite clear: Amsterdam is thé Sin City. But how sinful are the Amsterdammers?

In this walking tour we’ll reveal the famous wrongdoings in town from past to present, following the 7 deadly sins: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Pride and Envy.

People are people and Amsterdam has been attracting lots of different ones for centuries. All in search for the freedom that the metropolis was known for. The question is: Was there maybe too much freedom?

While you walk through the picturesque streets of the old centre, your guide will share the fascinating stories about the temptations in the city and the people that went astray.
Don’t think only of the obvious, since also Amsterdam has its secrets. Learn about the manic obsession that the Dutch once had with the beautiful tulip. And get to know the ghost Helena who is still haunting the medieval houses full of anger.

ROUTE

Expect a lively trip through the oldest part of Amsterdam, with its mysterious little streets, the old sea dike, endless canals and leaning houses. Find an understanding of the unusual tolerance in the Dutch capital and laugh about the shameful and regrettable acts of the people.

Highlights: The former city gate, one of the oldest houses, passing through the Red Light District, quirky cafes and fun shops and the famous Canal Belt.

Tour with Manuel

I had a long layover in Amsterdam and decided to take a tour with the time I had. I am so glad I got the chance to go on this tour with such a wonderful guide! He was funny, upbeat, and so knowledgeable about each place we stopped. He gave one of the most interesting tours I have ever been on. Thanks for making my layover both educational and fun!

Awesome

My wife and I took this walking tour and our guide was a wealth of knowledge (and humor!) during the entire walking tour. If you are a first time visitor to Amsterdam, cautiously curious or want to learn the history/architecture/sociology of Amsterdam, this is a great way to see the sights and learn the history of the district, while in the comfort of a group setting.

A great tour through Amsterdam

Was very happy with the tour given by Vincent. He was both entertaining and very knowledgeable about Amsterdam. We were a small group so I could ask a lot of questions about the city and its history and he answered them all.

Informative and lots of laugh!

Me and my friend had a great time on this tour! Vincent shared interesting facts about the area and had a great sense of humour. He is also very friendly and the whole tour group even end up drinking in an Irish pub after! Highly recommended!
