Leidseplein<\/span><\/strong> is a square in the center of Amsterdam in the extension of the Leidsestraat.<\/p>\n

It borders the Marnixstraat and the Small-Gartmanplantsoen. Leidseplein is located right in the heart of the city and is a place where both locals and visitors of the city come together to enjoy great restaurants, shops, and nightlife hotspots. Immediately northeast of the Singelgracht canal, it provides a great and easy to reach location that has also been known as one of the city\u2019s main transportation hubs.<\/p>\n

The most notable landmark in the square is undoubtedly the Stadsschouwburg, a beautiful theater where another landmark, the American Hotel is close by. When you decide to spend some time at Leidseplein while in Amsterdam, you will soon notice the many street performers hoping to get something in return for entertaining the huge crowds that make their way to the streets daily.<\/p>\n

If you visit this square during the warmer summer months, you will get the chance to hang out at the many bar terraces that seem to fill every corner of the streets. Whether you are there during the day and want to do some shopping or prefer to wait for the sun to go down and prepare to get the party started, Leidseplein is perfect for both.<\/p>\n

For the winter months, you can enjoy a fun outdoor ice skating rink as well as some tasty hot food stalls scattered throughout.<\/p>\n
