The Rijksmuseum is located between the Stadhouderskade and Museum square, in the borough Amsterdam South, close to the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and the Concertgebouw.<\/p>\n

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam is build in the year 1885 and was originally founded in The Hague in the year 1800 and moved to Amsterdam in 1808, first located in the Royal Palace and then later moved into the Trippenhuis. The current building was designed by Pierre Cuypers, a very well known architect that designed other popular attractions throughout Amsterdam. It opened in 1885 and then after a 10-year renovation costing over 375 million euros, April 13, 2013 was the reopening date brought on by Queen Beatrix.<\/p>\n

In the years 2013 and 2014, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam was said to be the most visited museum in all the Netherlands with record numbers up to 2.45 million visitors. Guests of the museum are able to enjoy and marvel at a total of 8,000 objects out of the 1 million they have of both art and history of which many include masterpieces by Johannes Vermeer, Frans Hals and of course the famous Rembrandt.<\/p>\n

Throughout the museum, there are several different collections ranging from history, arts, crafts, paintings and so on. Due to the most recent renovation and its progress each year of developing more and more for the public to see, the Rijksmuseum with undoubtedly continue to see success in all ways possible.<\/p>\n
