Hermitage Amsterdam is located directly on the river Amstel and right near the Magere Brug in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Hermitage Amsterdam dates back to 1683 where for years \u2013 until 2007 \u2013 served as an elderly care house. It was not until the year 2009 that it became the Amsterdam Hermitage following the original in Saint Petersburg, Russia.<\/p>\n

Entering into the Hermitage Museum, you will get the opportunity to visit the many exhibitions as well as the lovely large internal courtyard, which is best enjoyed during the summer but also great throughout the rest of the year as well. The typical set up of the exhibitions is usually made up of one selected theme that showcases twice per year. This is due to the fact that all of the items and objects used in each exhibit come directly from the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.<\/p>\n

Depending on what time of the year you visit the museum in Amsterdam, you will see something different than it was possibly just weeks or months before. Although it may feel as if you missed out on something that has now come and gone, this aspect of the Hermitage Museum makes it possible for you to keep visiting time and time again whenever in Amsterdam and never seeing the same thing twice.<\/p>\n
