Covid-19 Update

In today’s blog you will find an update about the current covid-19 measures in Amsterdam.

The government decided to extend the lockdown with all measures until the 20th of April. However, from the 1st of April the curfew will begin an hour later, starting from 10pm and ending on 4:30am. The usual 1,5 meter distance rule still applies and it is always mandatory to wear a face mask in public transport and shops. Furthermore, the following businesses are still closed: Restaurants, bars, theaters, cinemas, casinos, amusement parks, zoos and sex establishments. Also, most big events or festivals are postponed to later in this year.

Even though you can’t consume anything in restaurants, bars & cafés, most of them still offer a delivery or take away service for their meals and drinks. A similar rule applies for shops: You can either use the click-and-collect service, or book a shopping appointment of at least 10 minutes (or more) online. Essential shops such as supermarkets, drug stores and pharmacies are open as usual. In addition, you can only go through public spaces with members of your household or one more person.

Remember to check the official coronavirus information website of the Dutch government for further information. For more information on Amsterdam’s restrictions click here.
